History

Charnel was the leader of a gang of vampire hooligans. They'd managed the imprison the angel Uri-El. However, they couldn't destroy him without hellfire. Towards that end, they lured Johnny Blaze into a trap by killing some drug addicts. Unfortunately for Charnel, this also attracted the attention of the Punisher. Punisher and Blaze tracked Charnel and his gang to thier hide-out. Charnel tricked Blaze into seemingly destroying Uri-El with his hellfire, but when he realized what Charnel had done, Blaze killed Charnel with Uri-El's sword.
