On his biggest day a drunk driver Carl Crenshaw took James legs and forced him to his back up in engineering to make his living. And boy did he as he developed a brand of prosthetics called cheetahs made him a millionaire at twenty two.

Working for The Order

James was one of the recruits for the 50 State Initiative and was soon brought over to become a teammember of the superhero group known as The Order. There he found his place in the team as the team's speedster. James, being a very emotional guy did have trouble with some of the missions they went on however. He had trouble killing Russian soldiers that where in preserved sleep that where controlling an A-bomb.

Fear Itself

Some months later, during the events of Fear Itself, commander Steve Rogers informs Prodigy of the unknown meteors that have fallen from the heavens and mass panic is on the horizon. Rogers asks Prodigy to gather heroes on a volunteer basis to help keep the peace and lead a new Initiative where there is no forced conscription or registration. Prodigy agrees to become the leader of the new Initiative and most of the former Initiative members including Calamity gather in Washington DC.
