Bloodwing is part of the Shi'ar race and a member of the Crystal Claws, a group who wish to see D'Ken in power again. His sister, Kalador, had died but was denied to pass on to the next life as she hadn't died in service of the Crystal Claws which led to him targeting Captain Marvel in the hope that defeating him would allow his sister to pass on.
