B'Arr is one of the Ruined, beings once active on Earth but exiled to another dimension in uncertain circumstances. They exiled c. 9000 BC. Excavations in modern Paris uncovered ruins that actually included a doorway to the exile location of the Ruined. The Ruined were able to take possession of several people present in the exploration of the ruins.

B'Arr took over Herve Dubois. His avatar gained gained stony armor covering his head, shoulders, hands and feet. His armor was resistant to fire. B'Arr had superhuman strength and endurance, able to lift c. 50 tons. His power levels were supposed to increase as time passed but the Fantastic Four stopped the Ruined too soon for the latter to reach the height of their abilities.
