Ayesha is a sorceress priestess in the Kingdom of Balobedu during the Hyborian Age, she is a rain queen of Balobelu, Ayesha was a Sorcerer Supreme and an ancestor of Ashake and Ororo Munroe, the Storm.

Balobedu must be one of the Black Kingdoms, as that is the name of equivalent of African continent in the Hyborian Age.

Creation

Ayesha was created by David Sexton in Marvel Tarot (2017), she is inspired by the Mujaji or Modjadji, rain queens of the Balobelu people from South Africa, it is a hereditary position, the people believe that such queens have powers related to the weather. The author used the same name of the character from the novel She: A History of Adventure by H. Rider Haggard, who, according to some researchers, was inspired by the rain queens.
