Creation

America Vasques was created by Joe Casey, Nick Dragotta and Dustin Nguyen. Originally projected to debut in 2017, the publication was posponed until 2020 and is draw by Dustin Nguyen instead Dragotta. The series was based in a rework on the character of America Chavez, also created by Casey and Dragotta for Marvel Comics. When Marvel rejected the proposal from Casey, Casey developted a new character in Image comics. Her story includes many similar characters from Marvel, including a crew of analogs characters as Colonel Free, Wraith and a female Thor.

History

America Vasquez is a loner superhero in her universe, staying away from most of the superhuman community of her world. Born and raised in La Puente, California, she is a minor celebrity in her native hometown. She lives with her grandmother and takes a great inspiration from her late grandfather, ex member from the US Army. Currently, her parents are not part of her life.

After several adventures she found herself fighting against an evil doppelganger, trying to overthrow a despot and traveling to another dimension where an strange entity saw her. Intrigued, she was contacted by an old acquaintance, Maximum Annihilator, who seems to know what was that about.
