Origin

Very little is known about Zell's origin. At some point in her life she moved to New York and joined the Moody coven, though she had very little access to her inherent magic.

Creation

Zell was created by Ann Nocenti and Trevor McCarthy. She made her first appearance in Klarion #1.

Major Story Arcs

Klarion

Zell forms a fast friendship with Klarion, and the pair travel to the Necropolitan Club to help Rasp, who has gone to seek revenge on some bullies. She tries to convince Klarion to help Rasp, but he is unmoved. Once Klarion brings Rasp down, the three escape the scene. After being lectured by Piper, she demonstrates the ropes to Klarion. When they kiss, she accidentally strangles him with her hair, and he creates a magical explosion to escape. This explosion leads Klarion to discover the robot Contessa. Zell joins Klarion in investigating the robots, acquiring one of her own in the process. When they are attacked by Coal, and then by witch hunters, she gets left behind by Klarion and Beelzebub, though she follows them into Klarion's pocket soon after. There, she fights with Beelzebub, who accuses her of bewitching Klarion. She and Klarion argue about the virtues of the buddybots and his intention to ingest similar technology. When he does, she is expelled from the pocket along with the others. After Klarion leaves, she follows him to Beelzebub's barber shop, and chastises him for trying to abandon his new buddybot. She takes the new buddybot and returns to the Moody Museum, where she works with Klarion and the rest of the coven to defeat Gargora.

Powers and Abilities

Zell has largely unknown magical abilities. She has extremely long prehensile hair, which appears to move semi-independently of her will. She appears to possess a level of psychometric ability.
