Taser was the leader of the Knight Shift, the mutant guards of the Institution of Doc 30, a sadic scientist who experimented in young metahumans and twist them as his personal army. After being broken and manipulated Taser became into one of the most cruelest warden of the Institution and rose to warden commander.

This would end when Ferro, a previous inmate and unofficial member of the time traveling Legion of Superheroes from century 31st went to rescue his brother Douglas. When the Knight Shift threatened with kill his brother, a desperate Douglas, provoked a riot among the prisioner, who take advantage and killed the guards, including Taser.

Taser was inspired in Cyclops from the X-men, even had a mirror relationship with fellow teammate Psych.
