Martin Jefferson was a normal man until the day than a tachyon beam traveling back in time from the future hit him giving him amazing powers, transforming him into the hero known as Regal. As Regal he became the world greatest superhero and his intervention averted disasters such as the Nazi invasion of Poland or the collapse of the multiverse with the attack of the Anti-monitor. Under his leadership and inspiration for the world's superheroes he transformed the Justice Society of America into the the Justice Guild of Earth, ending hunger and bringing peace between nations, transforming the world into a wonderful utopia.

His greatest villain was Muriel Hass, also known as Doctor Hate, who also became the mother of his child Prince, whom he raised away from his mothers influence. Regal ultimately met his demise in battle with Darkseid with both dying and Prince following in his father’s footsteps.

However, nothing of this never happened.

In the main universe of Earth-0 Dr. Muriel Hass had a schizophrenic son who believed he was a superhero named Prince, son of a hero named Regal who never existed, yet he had the abilities to support it. Muriel thought than maybe the quantic powers of her son made possible for him to see that other world, in the myriad of dimensions of the quantum possibilities. Then she attempted to create this universe experimenting with tachyon beams and sending one back in time striking Martin Jefferson and creating a divergent universe where he was tranformed in Regal and her son was Prince. However, in the main universe after Muriel’s son discovered he wasn’t the Prince of this other world he went on a rampage, apparentely leading to his own death.

Apparentelly, in another universe, the Prince of that reality, dreamed of a world where he was a mental patient with superpowers and where his father,the great, late, superhero Regal never existed.
