Creation

R3Z7 was created by both Christopher Michael Taylor and Tom McCraw and the first and only appearance was in the Dc Comics series Legion of Super-Heroes #57-Volume 4- Friends and Foes.

History

Five-Year Gap

The young man identifying himself as R3Z7 was a student during the 31st century at the Legion Academy where he was being taught how to fully understand how to utilize his abilities alongside various fellow superpowered cadets. R3Z7 is an alien from the planet Tyrraz.

After the so-called Five-Year Gap, the Legion Academy was renamed the United Planets Military Academy. Many old students remained and many new students joined, such as Tiger Girl, Ringtoss, Rush, Dragonfly, Jagged and Xera.

It has been speculated that R3Z7's father is Tyr, but this has not been confirmed.

Powers and Abilities

R3Z7 has cybernetic enhancements which grant him super-strength and energy projection from the guns on his arm.

Equipment

As cadet of the Legion Academy/United Planets Military Academy, Dragonfly is allowed the use of a Legion Flight Ring. The ring gives its wearer the ability to fly, the speed and range of which is determined by the wearer's willpower. It also acts as a long-range communicator (enabling constant vocal contact with other Legionnaires, even across vast distances of space), a signal device, and a navigational compass, all powered by a micro-computer built inside the ring.
