Creation

Napalm was first seen in The Flash #38 - Skeletons in the Closet. He was created by Robert Venditti, Van Jensen, and Brett Booth.

Character History

Napalm was seen working alongside Mirror Master (Scudder) to rob a bank. He was being trained as a replacement for Heat Wave after his sacrifice during Rogues Rebellion. Napalm was the third potential candidate according to Scudder, who informed Napalm that he'd be denied access to the Rogues if he killed a civilian with his lousy aim.

Things quickly went south for Napalm and Scudder when they were confronted by the Future Flash. Napalm lost his temper and his cool thus causing him to begin spitting fire out in all directions, igniting the money they were attempting to steal in the process. He is told that he failed the test to become a Rogue after he opens fire on civilians within the bank; Scudder uses his powers to re-direct Napalm's flames.

Realizing that they can't defeat the Future Flash with their poor teamwork; Mirror Master grabs hold of Napalm and tries to pull him into the Mirror World; unfortunately for Napalm the mirror is broken by Future Flash before he can pass through it thus severing Napalm's arm.

Napalm was about to have his throat slit by Future Flash; however, Iris West's appearance and shock at the image of Flash potentially killing someone causes Future Flash to run, thus saving Napalm.
