Biography

Mrs. Chilton was the mother of Joe Chill and had a number of grown up sons when she lived in Gotham City. During that time, she became the housekeeper of Philip Kane who was related to the Wayne Family. In that time, both Thomas and Martha Wayne were killed by Joe Chill in Crime Alley whereupon he fled leaving a young Bruce Wayne the only survivor. He would be taken in by his Uncle Philip and looked after by Mrs. Chilton though Bruce would not know that she was Joe Chill's mother which was a fact known only to Alfred Pennyworth. Bruce would claim that Mrs. Chilton saved his sanity as she cared and comforted him whilst teaching him honesty and integrity to the point that he considered her almost a second mother. Alfred would come to believe that in Mrs. Chilton own way she was making amends for the heinous actions of her son. Whilst caring for Bruce, she would urge him to move away from his intensive studies and play with the other children but he refused. Mrs. Chilton would come to think that a part of the boy had died with his parents but was unaware that he was training himself to avenge their death in the future.
