Martin Kramer was an artist for Blaze Comics. He worked on the Astro Teens book until Booster Gold came to Metropolis. Then he switched to working on the Booster Gold Comic. Skip Andrew the Managing Editor of offered to double his pay but Martin was willing to do it anyway because he liked the idea of working on one hero rather than a superhero team. Things were going well for Martain until the 1000 found out he and Benny the writer on the Booster Gold book had information about Booster Gold. They were kidnapped by the 1000 and tortured until they gave them all the information they had. Afterwards they were shot in the head and left for the police to find.
