The man who would become Hooker, was once a doctor who spend a life time treating the ill. He was deeply religious and while he join the Lab under unknown circumstances, it became clear within no time that they were doing something horrible. However Hooker so they good of the Lab, and there nanotechnology could bring about the end of illness and death, in twist of irony he discovered he was also dying from brain tumor. Feeling betray by the God he was loved and all the folks he served, Hooker tried to speed up the nanotechnology discoveries by using vagrants and homeless who no one would miss. He found perfect one in the amnesic Mitch Shelley. After testing every one of the and processing to kill them, Hooker discover Shelley had change somehow and use so of his blood to cure his cancer. Again in another twist of fate it drove him mad and unlikable, yet unable to regenerate. When the Lab found out about this they try to kill him and replace him with Mister Fancy, but Hooker got away. For sometime Hooker travel the US looking for Mitch and killing folks and stealing there hearts, by now his mental state had deteriorated. Upon finding Mitch, he learn that the closer he got the more his body heal and could copy Mitch's current powers.
