Emba was the wife of neanderthal Ne-Ahn (the former chief of the Bear Tribe), and the adoptive mother of Anthro and Lart. She and her mother lived with the nomadic family, taking care of the food hunters deliver. After an adventure escaping the lost city of Katara, Emba and the rest of the family found the remaining Bear People, being led by Do-Ahn, Ne-Ahn's brother. Do-Ahn welcomed Emba and the family into the Bear Tribe. She remained a member of the Bear Tribe when the Bear and Horse Tribes merged into one.
Emba was a kind soul, who supported her sons and their desires. She was willing to confront Ne-Ahn when he was being stubborn, but only so far.
