Dr. Thaava performed surgery on Orion after he was struck by omega beams and brought to the doctor by Hal Jordan and Kyle Rayner. The doctor exhibited great intellect to adapt quickly to alien (what is alien to the doctor that is) physiology and was able to save Orion's life. The doctor also developed a mobile hospital droid, proving further intellect as the droid was capable of providing ample support to the doctor.
