A criminal scientist and friends of bank robbers Jonathan and Martha Kent. He implanted Clark with "chromo-stimulant" which would make Clark the greatest criminal in the world. Dr. Markem left Clark at the Smallville Orphanage where he was adopted by the Lang family.
