Origin

Contessa is a buddybot, a form of robot created by Coal which bonds with its host and develops a physical body built partially on its robotic parts and partially on bacterial cells within its host. Contessa was one of the first buddybots created, and she was bonded to Rasp.

Creation

Contessa was created by Ann Nocenti and Trevor McCarthy. She made her first appearance in Klarion #3.

Major Story Arcs

Klarion

Contessa burrows her way through Rasp's palm and immediately bonds with him. Taking the form of a large spider, she begins explaining her nature to him before she is attacked by Klarion, who pulls her apart. When she is released she reforms into the semblance of a robotic girl, and continues to seduce Rasp. She encourages him to acquire more cybernetic enhancements to increase their closeness. Returning to the Moody Museum with him, she bonds with the new buddybots.

Powers and Abilities

Contessa is a robot. She is functionally immortal and indestructible, as she requires only a single line of code to reconstitute herself. She has displayed the ability to fly.
