Atilla was present during the mission with fellow teammates to Ayaguz, Kazakhstan. There is where he fractured his forearm. When he got his injury checked with the Blackhawks Doctor told him that he would be pulled of the Active List until his wound healed in about two weeks.

He has a shady past before joining the Blackhawks. Sometime during that period Deathstroke killed his entire team.
