The Aegean was rescued by the High when the Authority trapped in the Carrier crossed path with Mondregon in the deep space. It happened than the Aegean was a member of the race of Union, also possesing a symbiotic stone than give him powers imliar to Apollo or the High.

However the Aegean was not really alive, but he was an extension of Mondregon, who used the body of the Aegean to trap the Carrier and consume it and its crew. Jack Hawksmoor and Freefall worked together to defeat the Aegean with the help of a secret weapon than Jack had hidden in the Carrier.

Aegean was abandoned on space, returning to the orbit of Mondregon.
