Star Trek Canon Special Note
Not everything listed in the origin is Canon.  That is because only television shows and movies are considered canon.  This being a comic website there are many things here that are not canon.  So unless it is contradicted in film it should be listed as part of the character biography.  
 
Sita was from the Delhi citystate.  She is the daughter of Ambassador Rajav Mohindas.  Like others who served under Pike she turned down a promotion on the U.S.S. Valley Forge to serve on the U.S.S. Enterprise.  Her father was instrumental to getting her fellow crewmen Nano into Starfleet and be an ambassador for his people.  She is also the one who got Mia Colt and Jose Tyler to start dating.

Creation

Sita was created to flush out the crew of the Enterprise under Captain Pike.
