Becka McBride was created by writer Ian Edginton and artist Alex Maleev. She first appeared in 1998's Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal #1. Becka was originally referred to as "Becca Shaw" in materials connected to the initial comic book release of the series, but her name was apparently changed to Rebecca McBride somewhere in the development process.Throughout the Eternal series, she is referred to as both "Becca" and "Becka."
