Dream Crystal is romantically involved with Johnny "Red" Storm, however, her team leader, Vykin the Black Bolt, forbids the pair to remain together. He and the other Un-People forcibly separate the pair. Later, Dream Crystal disobeys Vykin and goes to visit Red at Challenger Mountain, though they are interrupted by a visit from Red's ex-girlfriend, Corinna Evans.
