Elizabeth (エリザベス, Erizabesu) is a supporting character from the Shin Megami Tensei series of games and specifically the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 video game for the Playstation 2. It's the third game of the franchise and was developed as a supernatural-mystery RPG with deep social aspects. It was developed by ATLUS in Japan, directed by Katsuro Hashino, and character design by Shigenori Soejima. It was released in Japan in July 13, 2006, and in the U.S. on August 14, 2007.

The series was later adapted into a manga written and illustrated by Shūji Sogabe, and began serialization in ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Maoh magazine on September 19, 2008, then to Atlus's official Persona Magazine in November 7, 2011. Her first first manga appearance is in Persona 3 Volume 1 CH. 3 "La premiére pleine lune".

The origin and abilities of the denizen of the Velvet Room is completely unknown. They seem to exist outside of time in an unknown dimension. Despite having no real Arcana power, she has the ability to summon multiple persona. Something only the heroes can do.

The Persona Compendium is a large book that is used by the assistant of the Velvet Room to catalog all the Persona that are obtained by the heroes. Being a being who can summon multiple persona, Elizabeth can use this catalog to summon all the person within it's pages.

Persona 3 (2006)

In the Persona 3 PS2 game, Aigis is a non-playable character that can be selected as a party member.. She is voiced in the Japanese version by Miyuki Sawashiro, and the English version is performed by Tara Platt. Elizabeth is a non-playable character in the game. She controls the Persona Compendium that contains all the registered person of the player. She will also make requests of the player to retrieve a certain type of item or fuse a persona with specific abilities. Completing these tasks will gain the player certain rewards.

If the player elects to begin the second cycle, Elizabeth till challenge the player in a side quest in the bonus dungeon, Monad. At the top, she reveals that she is a persona-user who can summon multiple persona, like the protagonist. She is trying to find the meaning of her like, and hopes that someone stronger can show her the answer.

Persona 3 FES (2007)

Persona 3 FES is an add-on disc for Persona 3 that contained both updates for the original game and a new epilogue story titled "Episode Aegis", called "The Answer" in the U.S. edition. Persona 3 FES was released in Japan on April 19, 2007 as both a stand-alone, and with the directors cut edition of Persona 3. The U.S. and other overseas releases published the game as a whole. The North American release was April 22, 2008. This was also eventually released digitally on the PlayStation Network. Miyuki Sawashiro and Tara Platt both reprise their roles to voice Elizabeth. Original Persona 3 players had the option of transferring their original saved data.

Despite having no Social Link, the protagonist can date Elizabeth in Persona 3 FES. As the protagonist teaches her about the outside world and culture, Elizabeth will give the player items to summon certain Persona. Upon completing the final date request, she will reveal that she is in love with the protagonist. She will end the relationship at that point to avoid forgetting her duties of the Velvet Room.

During "Episode Aegis" epilogue, Aigis gets to know Igor and Elizabeth after she obtains the powers of the Wild Card. However, she is denied access to the Persona Compendium. After learning the nature of the Abyss of Time, Elizabeth remarks that Aigis has finally found her answer, and that her Journey is about to end.

It was revealed in Persona 4 that Elizabeth left the Velvet Room in order to find a way to save the protagonist from his fate of being sealed between Nyx and humanity.

Persona 3 Portable (2009)

Persona 3 Portable is the republication of the Persona 3 FES game for Sony's PSP handheld system. Persona 3 Portable was released in Japan in November 1, 2009, and released in North America on July 6, 2010. Added content included the option to play as a female protagonist option, and this altered some story and relationships. Miyuki Sawashiro and Tara Platt both reprise their roles to voice Elizabeth.

For Elizabeth to be the optional boss in P3P, the player must have not only completed the Vision Quest, but also spared Ryoji Mochizuki on December 31. Theodore can replace Elizabeth as the ultimate boss in P3P, but only if the player chooses the female protagonist.

Lord of Vermilion Re: 2 (ロード・オブ・ヴァーミリオン Re:2, Rōdo obu Vāmirion Re:Tsū) is the follow up to the Lord of Vermilion arcade-based fantasy card game developed by Think Garage and distributed by Square Enix. Collectible cards are literally placed onto the playing field of the arcade machine, and the character artwork for the cards is done by multiple artist. It as released in July 26, 2011 to arcades, and it included characters from other game franchises, such as Final Fantasy and BlazBlue. Persona franchise characters such as Yu Narukami, Aigis, and Elizabeth have cameos in this game. This collaboration is partly due to Square Enix assistance to Atlus in bringing Persona 4 to PAL territories.

The game Persona 4 Arena is originally titled in Japan as Persona 4 The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena. This is the only Persona game that wasn't exclusive to the Sony platforms and was also available for the X-Box 360. It's the first game of the series where Elizabeth is a playable character. The Japanese version is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro, and the English voice is still performed by Tara Platt It was released in August 8, 2012, The story is set three years after Persona 3 and two months after the events of Persona 4.

Elizabeth's nickname within the story is "The Lethal Elevator Attendant" (最凶のエレベーターガール Saikyō no Erebētā Gāru). She uses both the Thanatos (タナトス Tanatosu) Persona along with the Persona Compendium as her weapon. Through Elizabeth's story mode, she gains an understanding of the Wild Card by the end, and gains her own Fool arcana. This suggests that this is the beginning of her own journey. Her story mode can only become available after unlocking and finishing Labrys' story, then the player must continue past the cliffhanger of at least one of both the Investigation Team and Shadow Operative members. Elizabeth is the ultimate opponent in Persona 4 Arena's Score Attack mode.
